| After stepping out of Tangerine Dream and Ash Ra Temple, his first album was recorded and released in 1972. Without any synthesizers, Schulze made this album
using a broken and modified organ and tapes together with a broken amplifier used as a filter. Extraordinary, cosmic sounds were made from playing an orchestra's
rehearsal backwards filtered almost beyond recognition and layers upon layers of a pulsating and droning organ. "Satz Exil Sils Maria" is the ultimate expression of the Universe as God, a transcendent expression of the freedom and expansiveness of the universe, a log of the creation that is not so much historical or theological or scientific as it is purely emotional.
